Speaker: Mr Ian Gardner
Company: IBM
Presentation abstract: Artificial intelligence and the 4th industrial revolution can change the way we work and how we can use ERP systems. The interface is changing, how tasks are completed today will be revolutionised using sensors and artificial intelligence. Increases in the availability and accuracy of data will expand the capabilities of analytics to give new levels of insight.

AI offers an ability to interpret things and develop knowledge via machine learning. Example areas include visual recognition (facial, object, image), natural language processing (written and spoken text) with the ability to understand context and sentiment. The ability to interpret things via sensors and AI offers new opportunities for ERP and the processors that they orchestrate. As data’s importance increases, the potential for analytics will expand to assist business functions and decisions to new levels.

In this session we look at potential use cases for artificial intelligence in ERP systems and analytics, the opportunities that this presents and the inherent challenges or fears
