Presentation Title: 'Kim Doesn't Like Getting Email' & Other Real-World Complaints About Oracle Workflow

Presentation abstract: In the nearly 20 years that I've been working with Oracle Workflow, I've had a large number of complaints about what is wrong with it - it's slow, it hangs my system, there's too much data created, my business analyst can't use it, and so on. The strangest one I've come across was starting work with a multi-billion dollar communications company to be greeted with an irate IT manager telling me "Kim doesn't like getting email".

Building on the presentation I gave to UKOUG Apps conference 2013, this session will look at some of the more common (and bizarre!) complaints that I've heard about Oracle Workflow - what causes them, how to deal with them, and how to stop them happening again.

Speaker biography:  Matt has worked in IT since 1998, firstly as a consultant for Oracle Corporation, and as an independent professional since 2006. Matt has worked in a range of roles with Oracle technology - DBA, integration specialist, functional / hybrid / technical consultant, workflow expert, trainer. Matt has also presented at the UK Oracle User Group annual conferences - his presentation "How NOT to implement Oracle Workflow" won both the Best New UK Speaker and Best UK Speaker awards in 2014. Matt lives in east Lancashire with with his wife, two daughters, and a dog called Harry.
