Hands-On-Lab (HOL): Lift and Shift to Oracle Cloud for Oracle E-Business Suite

Wednesday 6th December - Exhibition Hall

Organisations around the world have implemented Oracle E-Business Suite to optimize their mission -critical operations. With the introduction of Cloud Computing, these Organizations can now move their E-Business Suite workloads to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Oracle Cloud Infrastructure combines the elasticity and utility of public cloud with the granular control, security, and predictability of on-premises infrastructure to deliver high-performance, high availability and cost-effective infrastructure services.

Oracle customers can move their complete E-Business Suite environments to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure using E-Business Suite automation tools. Since the Oracle E-Business Suite technology stack remains the same, the workload can move to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure easily. With the ability to run Oracle E-Business Suite technology stack on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, customers can benefit from lowering their cost of operations, pay as you go subscription models and elasticity of the Cloud computing model.

Following section is to emphasize some of the key business drivers.

Business Drivers

• Moving from capital expenditure to operational expenditure model
• Lowering cost of operations
• Subscription model to pay for only for amount of resources consumed
• Elasticity to implement business model and process changes quickly, Scale up to peak performance workloads only when needed
• High Availability to reduce or eliminate downtime
• Disaster recovery capabilities to ensure business continuity
• Quick provisioning of test and development environments to expedite new projects

The purpose of this HOL is to show how E-Business Suite customers can move their on-premises EBS workload to Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.

This intension with this HOL, is to provide your DBAs an opportunity to understand in detail how to prepare your EBS apps, configure the appropriate Compute services and migrate (Lift and Shift) the EBS systems to Oracle Cloud. We will use the “Martha Stewart cooking show” style lab, showing the end to end process while fast-forwarding the time-consuming processes that would not fit into the duration of the HOL.

Lab times

10:00am - 12:30pm

13:30pm - 15:15pm (repeat)

With limited places, please ensure you arrive early to the labs to avoid disappointment!

But, if you would like to reserve your lab seat, in advance, please contact charlotte@ukoug.org with an indication of your preferred lab time.

Sit down with Oracle

Maximise your chances to connect with Oracle on a personal level with our sit down sessions. Take a look at our keynotes to see if you’re able to sit down with your Oracle community keynote and discuss your business. Please contact emma.gaffney@ukoug.org  to book your place

Socials

This December’s social is set to be bigger and better than ever, so move over Big Birmingham Bash because this year we’re partying like its the 80s at our Retro-themed event. Taking place in the exhibition hall on Tuesday 5th from 18:50 onwards you’ll be able to mix with users from all three conferences so dust off your spandex and make sure you’re at this year’s main social.

We’re also hosting community drinks on Monday 4th, 18:05-19:05, where you’ll be able to network with users and vendors from within your Oracle community; allowing you to have conversations with key industry players as well as meeting some new faces.
